Preamble

To standardize the admission process, the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) conducts a uniform admission test for all medical and dental institutions across Pakistan. This ensures equal opportunity for all candidates regardless of educational background.

One major challenge was designing a common curriculum that covers all pre-medical content while addressing gaps across different education boards. The MDCAT curriculum is designed to be fair and unbiased.

The MDCAT evaluates:

  • Problem-solving ability
  • Critical thinking
  • Understanding of natural, behavioral, and social sciences

The test is a standardized MCQ-based examination and also evaluates intuitive and analytical skills.
