Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. It is the holiest month when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. The Quran was first revealed during this month, specifically on Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), which is believed to fall in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
