There are 14 verses of prostration (Ayat al-Sajdah) in the Holy Quran. When these verses are recited or heard, it is obligatory or recommended to perform a prostration (Sajdah Tilawah). These verses are found in Surahs: Al-A'raf, Ar-Ra'd, An-Nahl, Al-Isra, Maryam, Al-Hajj (2 places), Al-Furqan, An-Naml, As-Sajdah, Fussilat, An-Najm, Al-Inshiqaq, and Al-Alaq.
