The recitation of the first Kalimah (Kalimah Tayyab) is called Tahleel, which means 'declaring Allah as the only deity.' The Kalimah states: 'La ilaha illallah Muhammad-ur-Rasulullah' (There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). This declaration is the foundation of Islamic faith and the first pillar of Islam.
