According to the answer key, Hazrat Ali (RA) was martyred at approximately 60 years of age. He was born around 600 CE and was martyred on 21 Ramadan 40 AH (January 661 CE). He was struck with a poisoned sword by the Kharijite Abdul Rahman ibn Muljam while leading Fajr prayer in the mosque of Kufa. He passed away two days later, ending his caliphate of approximately 5 years.
