Islam has Five Pillars (Arkan al-Islam), which are the foundation of Muslim life: (1) Shahadah - Declaration of faith, (2) Salah - Five daily prayers, (3) Zakat - Obligatory charity, (4) Sawm - Fasting during Ramadan, and (5) Hajj - Pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able. These pillars unite Muslims worldwide in belief and practice.
