Surah Al-Kawthar has only 3 verses (Ayaat), making it the shortest Surah in the Quran. It is the 108th Surah and was revealed in Makkah. 'Kawthar' means abundance and refers to a river in Paradise given to the Prophet (PBUH). The Surah is a response to those who mocked the Prophet for having no surviving sons, assuring him that it is his enemies who will be cut off from all goodness.
