Ijma (Consensus) is the third source of Islamic law after the Quran and Sunnah. Ijma refers to the unanimous agreement of qualified Islamic scholars (mujtahideen) on a legal ruling in matters not explicitly mentioned in the Quran or Hadith. The fourth source is Qiyas (analogical reasoning). These four sources form the foundation of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) used by scholars to derive rulings on new matters.
