Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) is traditionally considered among the first huffaz of the Quran, though several companions memorized it during the Prophet's lifetime. Hazrat Usman (RA) also had the complete Quran memorized and later supervised its official compilation. Other early huffaz included Ubayy ibn Ka'ab, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Zaid ibn Thabit, and Abu Darda (RA). The Prophet (PBUH) himself was the first to have the complete revelation memorized.
