Based on the latest updates from the Punjab Pharmacy Council (PPC), Lahore, the Pharmacy Technician Part-I (1st Year) exam is designed for students seeking Registration in Register “B”. The syllabus covers 5 main subjects.


Key 2026 Examination Details:

  • Total Marks per Paper: 100 (Reduced from 120)
  • Passing Marks: 50% (50 marks out of 100)
  • Structure: 50 Marks MCQs (50 questions) + 50 Marks Subjective
  • Exam Duration: 3 Hours


Syllabus Content: Part-I (1st Year)

1. Anatomy & Physiology (Written)


  • Anatomy: Introduction to anatomy, anatomical terminologies, surface anatomy.
  • Physiology: Structure of cells and tissues, bone structure, joints, skeletal/smooth/cardiac muscles.
  • Systems: Blood (composition, RBC/WBC, blood groups, coagulation), Respiratory system (mechanics, ventilation), Skin, Digestive system, Urinary system, Endocrinology (hormones), and Nervous system.


2. Biochemistry & Microbiology (Written)


  • Biochemistry: Basic biochemical principles, Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins/Amino Acids, Nucleic Acids, Vitamins, Enzymes.
  • Microbiology: Introduction to microbiology, classification of microorganisms, sterilization and disinfection, fermentation.
  • Applications: Microbiology of air/water/soil, vaccines, and sera.


3. Pharmacognosy (Written)


  • Fundamentals: Introduction and scope, classification of crude drugs.
  • Evaluation: Organoleptic, physical, chemical, and biological evaluation.
  • Active Constituents: Glycosides, alkaloids, volatile oils, resins, tannins, and lipids.
  • Plant-based Medicine: Enzymes from plant sources, medicinal plants of Pakistan, extraction techniques.
