Syllabus Details
Based on the Punjab Pharmacy Council (PPC), Lahore regulations and syllabus, the Pharmacy Technician Part-II (Second Year) Examination consists of theoretical and practical assessments focused on Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmacology, and advanced pharmacy practices.
Note: For the 2025β2027 academic session, the PPC has updated the exam structure to 100 total marks per paper (50 marks MCQs + 50 marks Subjective).

- Authority: Punjab Pharmacy Council, Lahore.
- Paper Pattern: 50 MCQs (1 mark each) + Subjective Questions (5 marks each).
- Passing Percentage: 50%.
- Warning: PPC has warned that only official Punjab Pharmacy Council notifications are valid, and fake, unauthorized organizations are active.
Syllabus Content: Part-II (Theory)
1. Pharmaceutics-II (Industrial and Quality Control)
- Processes: Mixing, Size Reduction (Grinding), Drying, Filtration, Evaporation, Compression, Rheology.
- Manufacturing: Formulation and manufacturing of solid (tablets), semi-solid (creams/ointments), liquid, and parenteral dosage forms.
- Industry Operations: Packaging materials, sterilization, quality control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) systems.
- Documentation: Storage, documentation in the pharmaceutical industry.
2. Pharmaceutics-III (Hospital and Community Pharmacy)
- Hospital Pharmacy: Introduction, classification of hospitals, epidemiology, medication errors, and hospital waste management.
- Community Pharmacy: Pharmacy layout design, consumer goods, and purchases.
- Safety: Vaccination and Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
3. Pharmacology (including Toxicology)
- General Pharmacology: Introduction to Pharmacology, routes of drug administration.
- Dosage Calculations: Posology, dose calculations (Youngβs Formula, Clarkβs Formula), factors modifying drug action.
- Systemic Pharmacology: Autonomic Nervous System, Central Nervous System (CNS), Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Gastrointestinal Tract (GIT).
- Toxicology: General introduction to poisonous plants and basics of toxicology.
4. Law & Ethics, Social Behavior, and Computer
- Law: Pharmacy Act 1967, Drugs Act 1976 (and subsequent updates), and regulations concerning retail pharmacy.
- Ethics: Professional conduct and ethics for pharmacists and technicians.
- Social Behavior: Role of pharmacy technicians in the community.
- Computer: Basics of computer hardware, software, and application in pharmacy management.
