Syllabus Details
According to the nationally mandated curriculum set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the MDCAT features 180 paper-based multiple-choice questions to be answered within 180 minutes (3 hours). No marks are deducted for incorrect answers. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure at least 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS.
Breakdown of MCQs by Subject
The allocation of questions and marks follows a fixed distribution:
- Biology: 81 MCQs (45%)
- Chemistry: 45 MCQs (25%)
- Physics: 36 MCQs (20%)
- English: 9 MCQs (5%)
- Logical Reasoning: 9 MCQs (5%)
Tier of Difficulty
- Easy: 15% of the paper (27 questions)
- Moderate: 70% (126 questions)
- Difficult: 15% (27 questions)
