Syllabus Details
Based on the curriculum prescribed by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the MDCAT consists of 180 paper-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with candidates given 180 minutes (3 hours) to complete the exam. There is no negative marking, meaning incorrect answers do not result in any deduction of marks. To qualify for admission, applicants must achieve a minimum score of 55% for MBBS programs and 50% for BDS programs.

The MDCAT follows a standardized allocation of questions across five subjects:
- Biology: 81 MCQs (45%)
- Chemistry: 45 MCQs (25%)
- Physics: 36 MCQs (20%)
- English: 9 MCQs (5%)
- Logical Reasoning: 9 MCQs (5%)
Difficulty-Level Distribution
Questions are divided into three difficulty categories:
- Easy: 27 questions (15%)
- Moderate: 126 questions (70%)
- Challenging: 27 questions (15%)
