Lord Byron (1788–1824) is one of the major poets of the Romantic Age (approximately 1785–1830). Along with Wordsworth, Coleridge, Shelley, and Keats, he represents the second generation of Romantic poets. His major works include Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, Don Juan, and Manfred. His flamboyant lifestyle made him the embodiment of the 'Byronic hero.'
