John Keats was most profoundly influenced by Edmund Spenser. Keats's early poem Imitation of Spenser was his first published poem, and Spenserian sensuous richness, luxuriant imagery, and medieval romance deeply shaped Keats's style. His poem The Eve of St. Agnes uses the Spenserian stanza. Keats is often called 'the most Spenserian' of the Romantic poets.
