The project method maximises student active participation. Students plan, research, design, execute, and present a real-world project — making decisions, solving problems, collaborating, and evaluating their own work. This hands-on, student-centred approach (developed by William H. Kilpatrick) engages learners physically, cognitively, and socially far more than passive methods. Inquiry and discussion also promote activity, but the project method is the most comprehensively active.
