Fear is one of the most fundamental and earliest emotions in young children and is commonly experienced by students in early school years — fear of failure, fear of the teacher, fear of being wrong, fear of strangers, or fear of new environments. Paul Ekman's research identified fear as one of six basic universal emotions.
