Revelation (Wahy) is the primary source and guiding principle of Islamic education. The Quran and Sunnah (prophetic traditions) provide the foundational framework for knowledge, values, ethics, and the purpose of life. While reason (aql), intuition, and observation are also valued in Islamic epistemology, they must operate within the parameters established by divine revelation, which is the supreme and primary source of Islamic educational thought.
