Android Inc. was founded in 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White in Palo Alto, California. Google acquired Android Inc. in 2005. The first Android device (HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1) was released in October 2008. Android is now the world's most widely used mobile OS.
