In life, there are often events that we find amusing for years to come. I remembered a singer who used to sing vulgar songs for stage plays. Someone filed a case against her for recording obscene songs. The judge asked her, "Why do you sing obscene songs?" She replied, "I don't sing them on my own; I'm forced to at gunpoint." The judge, who had a sense of humor, said, "Lady, don't fool us. You can't sing in tune at gunpoint."
In a tough economic climate marked by rising inflation and unemployment, Pakistan's 3 billion dollar increase in exports is a promising sign. Last fiscal year, exports reached 30.66 billion dollars, with a record 7.36 billion dollars in food exports alone. This 46% growth in exports of rice, fruits, vegetables, meat, spices, and oilseeds suggests a positive economic outlook for the country. Textile exports saw a slight increase of 0.93%, surpassing 16.65 billion dollars. Notably, exports of raw cotton surged by 316%, and cotton yarn and chemicals grew by 13% and 8% respectively. Chemical exports were valued at 1.5 billion dollars. Cement exports rose by 40.36% to 265 million dollars, while petroleum and coal exports grew by 80% to 400 million dollars. Football exports increased by 7.41% to 254.4 million dollars. Other sectors like plastic materials, canvas footwear, medicines, engineering goods, and jewelry also experienced growth. The government aims to significantly boost exports, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif setting a target of 60 billion dollars annually. There is considerable potential for expanding exports in minerals, precious metals, fisheries, and furniture making. Global demand for basmati rice and mangoes, which are exported to over 53 countries, has risen. Leveraging modern technology to enhance agricultural resources, develop products, and explore new markets is crucial for achieving this growth.
The renowned Palestinian leader, Ismail Haniyeh, symbol of unbreakable resistance against Israel's illegal occupation, Hamas's political leader, and former Palestinian Prime Minister, was martyred last night in Tehran, Iran, by an Israeli missile attack. His sacrifice will ensure his eternal legacy in the fight against injustice and oppression. After losing his three sons and four grandsons in Israeli attacks on Gaza, he also gave his life to free his homeland and defeat Zionist plans, energizing the Palestinian liberation movement. This movement, God willing, will eventually succeed, and Israel and its supporters will face disgrace and shame. According to Iranian TV, Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the Iranian president's inauguration when his residence was attacked. Iranian officials said the results of the investigation into the assassination will be revealed soon. Haniyeh was the face of Hamas's international diplomacy, often living in Turkey and Qatar to avoid Gaza's travel restrictions. He was representing Hamas in ongoing ceasefire negotiations. The attack on him by Israel during these negotiations and in the presence of international representatives at the Iranian president's inauguration is clear evidence of the Zionist rulers' hostility to peace and intent to ignite global conflict. The international community must realize that without a fair solution to the Palestinian issue, the peace of the entire world is at risk.
